xbox_live_weekly_update_image13Games with Gold has another offering this week: strategy title A World of Keflings. They’re a tiny but industrious people. All they lack is a giant leader in the shape of an Xbox Live avatar to show them the way. Yeah, that’s you, big guy or girl. Download this for the low, low price of free through November 15. Then from Nov. 16-30, download Iron Brigade, a strategy title from Double Fine. Free games are our friends.

Time for our weekly zombie offering. Really, there are a lot of zombie games. How to Survive combines crafting and survival horror. You can play as one of three characters trapped on an island full of zombies. Killing isn’t your only task. Players will need to make sure they eat, sleep and find water. A mysterious figure called Kovac has left pages of a guide called –  you guessed it, How to Survive, all over the island. They’ll give you a helping hand in this dangerous world. How to Survive is $14.99. Our Ryan Petzar has posted a review here.

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – Mirror of Fate HD isn’t just the winner of this week’s longest game title award. It picks up 25 years after the events in Lords of Shadow, which revealed Belmont family patriarch Gabriel to be Dracula himself. It will tell the stories of Trevor Belmont, battling his own father as a member of the Brotherhood of Light, and Simon, the star of most Castlevania games. OK, several of them because that series’ cast is constantly growing. Buying this game will earn you access to an exclusive playable demo for Lords of Shadow 2. It’s $14.99 to drive a stake through Dracula’s heart – again.

Magrunner: Dark Pulse pits technology against Cthulhu. The Magtech glove gives you the power to manipulate objects in the environment through 40 levels of puzzle gameplay. Magnetism versus Lovecraftian horror is a matchup we don’t see every day, even on XBLA. It is $9.99 to unleash the Old Ones from their super scientific holding cells.

The Deal of the Week is understandably horror-themed. Dead Island, Dead Island Riptide, and the Dead Island Fashion Victim and Survivor Packs are all 50 percent off.
