We need to support Mansion Lord. It’s a game that’s on Kickstarter and has RPG, general simulation, and even dating sim elements, and it absolutely has to exist. I know that I tend to get over-excited about these kinds of things and say this a lot, but this time I mean it. Mansion Lord could be an absolutely glorious PC game that people could play for months, maybe even years, and we, the people of the internet, have to give Golgom Games about $13,000 in the next two weeks to make it so.
Here’s how Mansion Lord works. Players own a mansion, and their goal is to make it an incredibly attractive and beautiful place. This will attract wealthy visitors, who will then go about killing each other. At which point you, and the detectives you hired before the fabulous dinner party of the damned, will go around arresting the murderous survivors. Once you’ve rounded them up, you turn them in to the proper authorities and are given healthy rewards for each one, which vary depending on how dangerous they were. You then can sink the earned money back into the mansion, or into bettering your detective crew, sending them on dates, or buying some equipment.
Doesn’t that just sound wonderfully warped? Golgam Games needs $28,000 to make that game happen. Except it only has just about $15,000 now, and there are only 15 days left before the Mansion Lord Kickstarter ends on December 19, 2013. Which means we have to step up. While it would be nice to meet the iOS, Vita, and Wii U stretch goals, I think we can live with just the Windows, Mac, and Linux versions.
There are an array of different rewards for contributing. You need to kick in at least $10 for a copy of the game. If you’re willing to give more to Mansion Lord, you can get extra detectives for yourself, design your own kind of furniture or room to have in the final product, or even be inserted as an NPC for the aristocrats to hunt. Give enough, and you can even be in the game as an assassin or detective.
Come on, people! Let’s make Mansion Lord happen!
