I know that title should probably say I’ll play the hell out of Disney Magical World, but it didn’t seem appropriate to me, given the nature of the game in question. Except I just did use the H-E-double-chopsticks word just now, so my avoidance technique was for naught. Oh well.
My inner child is cheering like a maniac, because Namco Bandai’s Disney Magic Castle: My Happy Life is being released in North America as Disney Magical World. Since my mental age peaked somewhere around high school, this news has not only made me ridiculously happy today, it’s made my week in general. Of course, a game that’s essentially Animal Crossing with Disney characters is bound to do that to you.
In Disney Magical World, players get to make an avatar and live in Disney World. You’re right in the Magic Kingdom, running your own little cafe. Naturally, you can decorate both your little house and your character, dolling them up with the cutest, Disney-inspired items you can imagine. Aside from running a cafe, you can also tend a garden. When work gets to be too much, you can explore the park, meeting your favorite cartoon characters and helping them with assorted problems. It looks like everyone will be there, from staples like Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Goofy, to others like Winnie the Pooh and Aladdin. It looks like it’s going to be Disney party time.
Disney Magical World is so sweet, you probably already have at least one new cavity from reading this news story and seeing that image. And there’s more to come in April. April 11, 2014 is the official release date for the 3DS game, which will be released digitally and physically. If you’re over Animal Crossing and grew up with Disney cartoons, you might want to keep an eye on this.
