Peyton Manning and his family can start planning that trip to Disney World, according to Madden NFL 25. EA Sports’ Super Bowl simulation had the Denver Broncos as 31-28 winners in overtime. The video game has been as accurate as any oddsmaking service, correctly picking 8 of the last 10 champs. In 2013, it even predicted that Baltimore would jump out to a large lead before a late San Francisco rally. It didn’t predict the hour-long power outage, but who could have?
According to the game, Manning will have one of his typical MVP performances. In the sim, he threw for 322 yards and three scores. Both offenses got off to a slow start, Seattle holding a slim 10-7 lead at the half. Denver surged in the second half, building a 28-10 cushion.
Seattle wasn’t ready to give in, and charged back to tie. Marshawn “Beast Mode” Lynch broke a 27-yard touchdown to bring the Seahawks to within two. They nailed the conversion, sending the Super Bowl into overtime for the first time in history.
Lynch finished this virtual championship with 109 yards and a touchdown. Denver’s DeMaryius Thomas had 111 catches, 168 yards and a TD, while Matt Prater hit the game winning field goal.
Ultimate Team card collecting mode is busy celebrating the biggest week in sports. All-Pro Packs will include a special “Lombardi Up” collectible. These represent things that could happen in the big game. For example, if there’s a pick six you could collect 50,000 coins and a Lombardi Pack.
What’s a Lombardi Pack? I’m glad you asked. They contain more than 200 collectibles that will go into a new loyalty category. These collections, when completed, will earn fat stacks of coins. EA says even bigger rewards are coming from them in the future. Don’t worry, they’re not going away after Super Bowl week.
Another part of the celebration is the chance to play against the best franchises in football history. Beating them will earn you a coin reward and special Super Bowl Pack.
