Remember Killer is Dead ? The Suda 51 one game wasn’t one of his most famous, but it’s only been a year so it should still be fresh. It was a stylish action-adventure game about a man who hunts down murderers. It gained quite a bit of notoriety for its sexist portrayal of women, not to mention its stylized presentation. Understandably, it was declared one of those games people either love or hate. And now, PC owners will get the chance to decide if they revere or revile Mondo Zappa.
Killer is Dead‘s official PC release date is now May 9, 2014. Deep Silver is handling the port, which will end up being something of an ultimate edition of the game. For $19.99, people will be getting the absolute best version of Killer is Dead available. Which is pretty darn awesome, considering the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions are still going for about $29.99.
So what, you may ask, will that $30 get you. Quite a bit, actually. You’re getting the full Killer is Dead experience. In additon to the game, you also get the Smooth Operator Pack, which was DLC for the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions. It has a standard mission where Mondo goes after Sebastian, a Gigolo mission where you hit on Betty, and some new costume options for Mondo, Vivienne, and Mika. There’s new content for the game itself, with the PC version getting an exclusive Theater Mode, where all event scenes and special extra footage is stored, as well as a Nightmare difficulty level.
Basically, if you were ever even remotely interested in Killer is Dead, the PC version is the one you should keep on your radar. In fact, if you’re truly smart, you won’t buy it right away. It comes out in May, after all, and the Steam Summer Sale should happen around August. Maybe, if you’re patient, you can get it at a 50% discount.
