Season pass holders for Call of Duty: Ghosts are already fragging each other in Devastation, the latest set of map packs. It includes four new maps and a new hybrid weapon. The newest gun on the block is a two-in-one submachine gun/assault rifle called The Ripper. It is Tearer, Slasher! Sorry, “Beowulf” was playing in the background.
The four new maps are Ruins, Collision, Behemoth and Unearthed. Ruins is set on a Mayan mountaintop temple complete with a volcano. Successfully completing a special field order will allow you to make that volcano erupt. How? Call of Duty: Ghosts technology. Stop asking so many questions. Collision is a small map set on top of a container ship. According to Activision, run and gun tactics will be the order of the day.
Behemoth takes place on a huge excavation platform. If you like to snipe, this is the new map you’ll probably love most. Remakes of existing maps are customary these days. Out of this set, Unearthed is a redo of Modern Warfare 3‘s Dome. Completing a special field order will give you access to an alien weapon.
Devastation also includes the second episode of the Extinction mode’s storyline. In Mayday, players hop onto a mysterious Chinese research vessel in search of Captain Archer. Enemies on this voyage include a new alien species called The Seeder and a 100-foot creature called The Kraken. That’s right, they released The Kraken.
The first bit of DLC, Onslaught, featured a field order that could turn one lucky player into Michael Myers. Activision is teasing another movie character here, but hasn’t revealed who it is. The season pass is $50, otherwise this DLC is $15. Those without the season pass will have to until April 3 to play on the Xbox 360 and Xbox One. It will arrive on other platforms at a later date.
