Did you have plans for this weekend? No? You do now, because the Double Fine Amnesia Fortnight 2014 prototypes are done. That is, if you contributed to this year’s Amnesia Fortnight game jam, they’re here. If you haven’t, then you have exactly one day left to chip in money to get the Amnesia Fortnight 2014 prototypes, as well as the 2012 ones.
In case you’d forgotten, the Amnesia Fortnight 2014 picks were Dear Leader, Mnemonic, Steed and Pendleton Ward’s Little Pink Best Buds. The first three could be acquired for chipping in at least $1, and came with the prototypes for Autonomous, Black Lake, Hack n’ Slash, Spacebase DF-9 and The White Birch. If you were willing to pay over the average, you could also vote on the Pendleton Ward game, and get it’s prototype once it was complete. People who paid over $35 received a 2014 Collector’s Edition Blu-ray.
And yes, I’m still sick over Gone Astray and Timagotchi not making it to the prototype stage. (Don’t we have enough Double Fine adventure games already, people? Couldn’t you have let me had the stray cat sim or the Tim Schafer pet sim?)
This year, in addition to getting the DRM-free Amnesia Fortnight 2014 prototypes, we also get Steam keys. One gives you the prototypes from 2012, and the other the ones you kicked money in for this year. It’s a nice little bonus. Something of an unexpected surprise.
Just remember, you have until the end of March 8, 2014 to still pick up the Amnesia Fortnight 2014 games. If you have a Windows PC, maybe consider kicking in to get at least the seven base prototypes.
