Family Guy: The Quest For Stuff is nearing its release date. It’ll be available for Android and iOS on April 10. So what’s this game about? Well, it honestly sounds a lot like The Simpsons: Tapped Out. Quahog has been left in ruins and its up to you to rebuild the city in your image. Sound familiar? Another similarity is that it’s free-to-play. Premium currency can be used to buy new stuff and speed up gameplay. I bet you already know where this is going.
The screenshots alone scream of borrowed inspiration from The Simpsons: Tapped Out. I suppose that’s not a bad game to emulate since it has been incredibly successful. EA has made a lot of money on The Simpsons: Tapped Out, and TinyCo and Fox Digital Entertainment want a piece of the money clam.
I haven’t played this game, and I will give it a shot when it comes out. But I must say I’m not optimistic about what the experience will be. I predict longer-than-necessary timers, the occasional joke that will be repeated over and over and near non-existent premium currency drops. Prove me wrong Family Guy.
