There’s going to be a new Call of Duty in 2014, because of course there is. This is Call of Duty, the series that doesn’t end. (Feel free to hum, “This is the Song That Never Ends” while reading this.) People love the series, even if it does seem like every entry is very similar, and Activision is going to capitalize on that.
Now, there aren’t too many details about the new Call of Duty yet. Rumor is, it will be called Call of Duty: Patriots. And there is a website, but all it’s showing right now is a static-y image, which I’ve helpfully uploaded at the top of this story. Also, Activision has given Game Informer the first screenshot from the game, which you can see there.
But, we really aren’t going to know anything about this new Call of Duty, the first developed by Sledgehammer Games, until May 4, 2014. That’s when the countdown on the website ends. So go ahead and bookmark that, and we’ll all catch up again on Sunday.
On the plus side, soon it’ll be a really good time to pick up a copy of Call of Duty: Ghosts . The previous year’s title’s price always plummets when the new Call of Duty is released. Granted, you can find Ghosts for under $30 pretty easily, but by Black Friday, it’ll be down below $20.
