I never in a million years would have expected this announcement, but I guess this is the way games are going. Steins;Gate, one of the most famous visual novels of our time, is coming to the PS3 and Vita. By which I don’t mean Japan’s getting it. No, that’s something that of course would happen. What I mean is, North America and Europe are getting it, in English, in 2015.
True, we already have immediate access to Steins;Gate. JAST brought over the PC version of the game. It’s quite good, too. Still, there’s something about a console and handheld port.
Especially when it’s a legendary visual novel like Steins;Gate. The story is quite unique. Sure, there are “pairings,” but it mainly revolves around students who figure out how to alter the timeline via text messages, which then changes the past and future. The Large Hadron Collider is even involved!
This is absolutely good news, and I hope a sign of things to come. 2015 is shaping up nicely, and perhaps we should all take some time to watch the anime to prepare for the game.
