To the delight of Final Fantasy fans everywhere, Square Enix launched its official online merchandise store on Monday, August 20, 2007. According to the press release, “The store kicks off with a lineup of high-end figurines and collectibles from top-selling Square Enix franchises such as Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts. With new products arriving regularly, the official online store is slated to become the ultimate destination for all Square Enix goods.”
Highlights from the first batch of swag include a set of figures from FF3, lifelike replicas of the Gunblade and Keyblade (cosplayers take note!), elaborate sculptures based on Advent Children’s Cloud/Sephiroth battle, and a whole mess of other collectible goodies. Merchandise is organized by game/series and type (sculptures, figures, etc.). Only one of any given item may be purchased at a time, due to the limited quantities.
The store has only been open two days but it’s already having server issues due to “unprecedented response”. Guess the kiddies really love their Square Enix stuff.
