Halo 3 has gone gold

Halo 3 has gone gold. I’m not sure I need to say much more than that since, if you are a fan, you’ve likely already passed out, face first onto the keyboard and hit enough random keys to take you to some Hello Kitty porn site.

This latest incarnation by Bungie Studios has already set a presale record and spawned countless tie-in products.

In case you have not read any gaming news in the past three years, Halo 3 will be released worldwide Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2007, exclusively on Xbox 360. Microsoft is guessing – and hoping – that it will also set the new single-day sales record. Halo 2, way back in 2004, generated US$125 million in the first 24 hours and, according to Microsoft’s press release, remains the most-played game on Microsoft’s Xbox LIVE.

Let’s hope the three years of development for Halo 3 means the single-player game will be a bit more fun.
