Dark Messiah of Might and Magic: Elements for the Xbox 360Ubisoft announced that the Dark Messiah of Might and Magic: Elements will be released exclusively for the Xbox 360 on February 28, 2008. The game has not yet been rated but promises to be better than its PC release which received mix reviews last year.

In Dark Messiah, players take on the role of Sareth and help him face an apocalyptic prophecy by using Sareth’s skill to manipulate his environment to defeat his enemies. The controls for the Xbox 360 version of the game have been rebuilt from the ground up so that the 360 controller will be easier for players to control both the sword and sorcery functions to battle Orcs, Cyclops and the Undead.

Daniel Palix, producer, Annecy Studios, talked about the difference between the PC and Xbox 360 version of the game a recent interview with IGN.

“The solo mode of the PC version offered a variety of cool features. We focused on fine tuning and extending the adventure a lot, making it more visceral and action-oriented. In this respect, the player will now choose a class from the beginning, letting you live a fine-tuned and unique experience for each class. As for the multiplayer, it has been almost completely reworked,” Palix said.

“We kept the fundamental core gameplay of the original multiplayer, based on five classes and a campaign game mode. Apart from that, we totally reworked about all that could possibly be reworked or tweaked [skills, maps, effects…] in order to maximize the fun factor, teamplay, and accessibility. This fundamentally changes the way the game’s multiplayer is played and leaves room for many other innovations that we’re working on.”
