Tom Morello to be a featured boss in Guitar Hero 3

It seems that we get a bit more news from either Rock Band or Guitar Hero III every week in anticipation of this holiday’s rock rivalry showdown. This past week, it was Activision’s turn to confirm that Rage Against the Machine and Audioslave guitarist Tom Morello will be a boss in Guitar Hero III. Morello will be joining Slash and Bret Michaels in the “celebrity Guitar Heroes showing up in GH III” department.

This is also one of Morello’s more interesting appearances since he made a cameo on Star Trek Voyager (see the video below).

So it’ll be celebrities (GH3) vs. a crazy long tracklist and the ability to play other parts in a band (Rock Band). For some gamers, the desire to challenge virtual guitar gods will tip the scale. Since the core gameplay is suspected to be just about the same, it’s going to come down to personal preference.

Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock is due to hit the Xbox 360, Wii, PS3, and PS2 November 2007.
