The women called police after they realized that a PlayStation 2 video game console and software for the system were missing, a Fremont detective said. The suspect, 23-year-old Michael Grant, was arrested and charged with the burglary as well as for violating his parole the following day.
A police sergeant responding to the scene of the crime spotted Grant, who matched the description of the robber, while on his way to the scene of the crime a block away stopped to question him. When questioned Grant denied any knowledge of the robbery, when the officer looked inside the two bags Grant was carrying. Inside were the reported games stolen, trash and a Netflix coupon addressed to one of the burglary victims.
Grant was arrested and booked at the Fremont City Jail in California (USA).
