Mario Galaxy dethrones Ocarina of Time on Game Rankings

According to GameRankings (an aggregate game review site), Super Mario Galaxy has surpassed 1998 masterpiece The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time as the highest-rated videogame of all time. Galaxy has an average score of 97.8% across 30 reviews, besting Ocarina’s 97.6% across 31.
In fact, Mario’s latest adventure isn’t the only new title (from fall 2007) to crack the top ten: The Orange Box has actually claimed the 5th and 6th slots on the chart, with the PC version edging out the Xbox 360 title. Otherwise, the newcomers share chart real estate with such esteemed titles as #3 Metroid Prime, #4 Soul Caliber, #7 Tekken 3, #8 Resident Evil 4, #9 Super Mario 64, and #10 Half-Life 2.
Does this mean Super Mario Galaxy is now officially the king of Nintendo’s extensive library of hits? Maybe, but I wouldn’t count Link or Samus out for long. After all, Ocarina had a nigh unheard of nine year reign, after all.
