There are not too many people in the world with the gumption of belittling Wii’s fun element or identifying something else, related to video games, as being more fun than the Wii. But Sony’s Chairman Sir Howard Stringer is among the few people who have the audacity of doing such a thing and, in fact, he has gone on record and uttered the name of the console he thinks is more fun than the Wii.

There are no prizes for guessing that the “infinitely more fun” console, according to Stringer, is the PS3. Stringer told the Guardian that there was a lot of excitement about the PS3 now and the general perception regarding the console had also changed. He exuded confidence when he said that the PS3 would come into its own because its high-end games were infinitely more fun, demanding and exciting.

The PS3 is on a roll after the latest price-cut. It outsold the Wii for the first time in Japan during the month of November and PS3 sales have reached an all time high of 200,000/week in Europe. Probably this new found success has afforded Stringer the confidence to indulge in good, old-fashioned lip service.
