In February, 2008, Sony Computer Entertainment America will be releasing Patapon for the PSP. Patapon stands out compared to other games due to it being an unusual combination of a platformer, adventure and music game. The 2D game also features the artwork and designs of the French artist Rolito.

Patapon is named for the warrior tribe which the player is guiding on a grand adventure. The Patapons want to find the other side of the world, so the player must use various rhythms and drum beats to direct the tribe. Changing the tempo and style may make them attack, charge forward or reverse direction. The game should keep players busy for a while, as there are over 30 missions available.

Music games are always a welcome addition to any game library, and Patapon looks like it will be an interesting one. Imagine how much fun it will be to whip the tribe into a frenzy with a frantic beat.
