Harmonix announced a comprehensive downloadable content (DLC) release schedule for its title Rock Band when the game first released. According to the itinerary, the last DLC was to arrive on December 18, 2007, and that is what happened. However, after that there was no word about the next DLC. This led to speculation that Harmonix might have run out of downloadable content for the game. However, a recent post on the official Rock Band forums by Harmonix developer hmxsean put all the game’s fans at ease with the announcement of a new DLC.
The DLC for the Xbox 360 version of the game became available yesterday (December 25, 2007).Gamers now have the opportunity of enhancing their Rock Band library with five new tracks. There is a cover version of The Sounds’ “Song With a Mission” and a couple of tracks each from 30 Seconds to Mars and All-American Rejects. Since the DLC became available on Christmas day, the price of each track is only 80 Microsoft points, which is half of the normal asking price.
Owners of the PS3 Rock Band game will receive their Christmas gift next week, since Sony’s offices are closed until then.
