Senior Citizen Lock Wii-motes

There are very few sporting events where one gets to see a man and a woman lock horns, and still fewer if both of them are nearly 80 years old. But this is what happened when Nancy Davies, an 84-year-old woman, took on Hal Winters, 79, in the grand finale of a Wii Bowling tournament. The old lady’s triumph must have surprised everyone, including her opponent Hal Winter, an actual bowling champion who won his last real bowling tournament this year.

The tournament was organized by the Riderwood Retirement Community, which also organizes hockey and shooting tournaments. The final match was a closely contested match with Davies beating Winters 202-182.

Although Davies has worked in a bowling alley, her bowling expertises were no match for Winter’s vast experience of playing actual bowling tournaments throughout his life, at least on paper.
