Microsoft announces nine Games for Windows titles at CES

Lest ye forget that computers play yon videogames, Microsoft used CES as an opportunity to announce upcoming games with the Games for Windows logo stamped on it. The nine games are:

• Alone in the Dark (Atari)
• Bionic Commando (Capcom)
• Conflict: Denied Ops (Eidos Interactive)
• Empire: Total War (SEGA)
• LEGO Indiana Jones (LucasArts)
• Microsoft Train Simulator 2 (Microsoft Game Studios)
• Sins of a Solar Empire (Stardock)
• Space Siege (SEGA)
• Tomb Raider: Underworld (Eidos Interactive)

Microsoft also announced titles expected to release in 2008 include Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures (Funcom, Eidos Interactive), Borderlands (2K Games), The Club (SEGA), Fallout 3 (Bethesda Softworks) and Frontlines: Fuel of War (THQ).

In order for a game to get the “Games for Widows” self-promoting logo on it, it must meet Microsoft’s standards and criteria including: an “Easy Install” option, compatibility with the Windows Vista Games Explorer, compatible with the Xbox 360 controller, is compatible with 64-bit processors, supports normal and widescreen resolutions and can be launched from Media Center.
