1up is reporting that PS3-exclusive stealth title Metal Gear Solid 4 is “almost done” and nearing its quarter two 2008 release date. According to the post, Associate producer Ryan Payton announced on the latest Kojima Productions Report podcast that the project is “on the eve of the bug-checking phase” and that aside from a few issues, the game is complete enough to be played all the way through. He also stated that there will be no more delays, and that the team is devoted to the quarter two release date. The specific day has not yet been announced.
Other tidbits from the report include the confirmation that the game will be released simultaneously worldwide, and that players will be able to pause cut-scenes.
Metal Gear fans rejoice – your game is coming soon! The MGS4 delay this fall was one of the biggest bummers for PS3 owners, but thankfully, it seems that the wait will soon be over.
