Atlus announced that Baroque, the company’s latest action RPG for the PS2 and Wii, will be fashionably late. The game will now be released on March 18, 2008. The reasoning behind the delay is Atlus’ desire for a simultaneous release of the game on both systems. The title was originally supposed to be released February 26, 2008. Baroque has already received a Teen rating, and both versions will cost $39.99.

In lieu of the game, Atlus has done a comprehensive update of the Baroque website. All of the sections are filled with comprehensive information on the mysterious dungeon crawler. Especially interesting is the control players have over the game, for example leaving conversations with NPCs early or dying can change the storyline. A movie of gameplay footage, avatars and wallpapers have also been added to the site.

PS2 owners may want to cling to Baroque, as it may be one of the last major titles coming to the system. Since it is coming from the same people who brought gamers Odin Sphere, it may have potential. At the very least, it is a new, quality game for a system whose fanfare is fading.
