The Game Audio Network Guild (G.A.N.G), a non-profit organization dedicated to the advancement and recognition of audio in video games, has announced the nominees for its sixth annual G.A.N.G. Awards. The awards are given for outstanding creative, technical and artistic audio achievement in interactive entertainment.
The winners will be announced at a ceremony being held Thursday, February 21, 2008, in San Francisco, CA, during this year’s Game Developers Conference (GDC). The show will be held in the North Hall of the Moscone Center (Room 134).
G.A.N.G. will also hand out a Rookie of the Year award, Student/Apprentice competition awards, a G.A.N.G. Recognition Award and a $10,000 G.A.N.G. Scholarship for game audio with Ex’pression College for Digital Arts.
As for the Lifetime Achievement Award, it will be presented to Brian Schmidt who is best known for his audio work in games such as Madden Football, Desert Strike and the Star War Trilogy.

That's a pretty significant scholarship for gaming audio! I guess its probably too late for this year but I will definitely check out the organization's page and look forward to the next competition.
