Discs of Tron coming to Xbox Live

For all you Tron fanatics out there you’ll have reasons to be happy come February 13, 2008, as Discs of Tron comes to Xbox Live Arcade.

Discs of Tron was the second of the two 1980’s classic arcade games that was based on the 1982 cult Disney science fiction flick, Tron. Discs of Tron will be available February 13, 2008 and will cost 400 Microsoft points. It is rated E for Everyone by the ESRB.

In Discs of Tron, players will battle the film’s villain, Sark, by throwing discs of energy at Sark in hope of knocking him off of his platform. The game will include both classic and the enhanced modes with graduating difficulty levels as the player progresses. Players must navigate multiple platforms of different altitudes, a barricade between the two combatants and chasers, which are secondary weapons from Sark. The player will also need to use deflectors to defend against Sark’s powerful discs attack.

The enhanced mode of Discs of Tron has updated graphics, with a cityscape from the world of Tron surrounding the 3D arena, and new audio.

A multiplayer mode will also be included: Classic Versus (highest score wins), Speed Versus (player to reach determined score first wins), Co-op (two players’ scores combined for leader board results) and Deadly Disc Versus (players play simultaneously and power-ups help one player or hinder another).
