Capcom has unveiled another new character to their Street Fighter IV lineup. Enter Abel, a large blonde guy who could possibly be a French Savate fighter, given his clothes. According to Capcom (as reported by Kotaku), he’s an amnesiac, making him conveniently unable to remember the skatey-eight game characters before him that had the exact same condition.
Whatever the case may be, Abel’s addition ups SFIV‘s roster to 10 playable characters, including all eight characters from the original version of Street Fighter II as well as fellow newcomer Crimson Viper.
Also, in Gamespot‘s hands-on impressions of the game, it reports that Capcom was handing out fliers to arcade vendors indicating the game would hit Japan this summer; vendors buying the game with a Taito VEWLIX cabinet would get it around late July 2008 with those who bought just the board having to wait until August 2008.
You can check that out our gallery of new in-game screenshots featuring Abel, borrowed from Weekly Famitsu.
Below are gameplay videos from the game’s appearance at the AOU 2008 convention going on in Japan.
