Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney the fourth in Capcom’s cult hit Ace Attorney series has arrived in stores today (February 20, 2008). It’s available for $29.99 and is rated T by the ESRB.
Apollo Justice marks the beginning of a new story arc for the franchise, with a new main character, the namesake rookie defense attorney, Apollo. Granted. The star of the last three games, Phoenix Wright, is still not only included but plays a pivotal role in the storyline.
The game’s cases are supposedly more similar to the “Rise From the Ashes” bonus case in the original Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney, making greater usage of all of the DS’s special capabilities than its predecessors, since they were all remakes of Game Boy Advance titles. This means the return of the ability to view each piece of evidence as a fully three-dimensional object, blowing on the DS’s microphone to search an object or area for fingerprints and other similar gimmicky but nevertheless good stuff.
For those still sitting on the fence after hearing about the slightly bad rep the game has received (despite overall favorable reviews) from hardcore fans who had already imported Apollo from Japan, the Flash demo is still available.
