relevant telltale stuff hereTelltale Games, a haven for former Lucasarts talents, has just acquired two more with the hiring of longtime Lucasarts alums Mike Stemmle, Justin Chin and Brett Totsi.

For those following Sam & Max‘s history these past few years, Stemmle’s name should be more than just slightly familiar. He directed Sam & Max Hit the Road the 1993 adventure game which started most people’s infatuation for the dog and rabbity thing duo, as well as the ill-fated sequel, Sam & Max: Freelance Police, which was canceled in 2004 only a few scant months before its release.

Chin also had quite a pedigree with Lucasfilm’s gaming division, being a key designer for such games like Dark Forces and Jedi Knight.

Totsi has also been with the developer since its prime in the 90s, serving in design and production roles for both of those pivotal Star Wars FPSes, as well as overseeing work on Factor 5′s Rogue Squadron trilogy.

Stemmle seemed especially eager to work with Telltale’s people, as he told Joystiq.

Mere words are proving woefully inadequate to describe my delight at hooking up with this fiendishly dedicated crew. …The excitement and talent swirling around Telltale remind me of the geysers of imagination that erupted across the gaming industry in the early ’90s. Only this time, with rational production schedules.

So, ’90s Lucasarts-style games for the win?
