EA loves its add-ons, which makes it no surprise that the company has announced an add-on city pack for SimCity Societies. SimCity Societies: Destinations will allow players to turn their societies into a recreational vacation destination. It is expected to hit North American and European stores in May 2008 and has a tenative price of $19.99. If you’ve wanted the chance to run a resort town, this add-on will help you do it.
There are a number of additional materials included to help you create a family friendly environment or Sodom and Gomorah hot spot. The map generator has been tweaked to make it easier for players to find the most appealing spots for recreational buildings. It also includes over 100 new vacation-oriented buildings and structures.
If you want more city options, but don’t want them to be vacation ones, then sit back and wait a few months. The official press release refers to SimCity Societies Destinations as the first city pack. If enough people buy it, then I’m sure more will come. Even if people don’t buy it, I’m fairly sure there will be at least one or two more expansion. I mean look at The Sims 2.
