Dexter is not only receiving a CBS debut, but a console one as well. Marc Ecko Entertainment has announced that it will create a video game based on the television show about a serial killer who hunts escaped serial killers. So far only an agreement with Showtime Networks has been finalized, and the game is in pre-production, so there is no information concerning what platform it will be on or when a finished product will be released.

The show Dexter follows blood spatter analyst Dexter Morgan, who appears to be a force of good in society that works with the Miami police. During his downtime, however, he goes after serial killers and murderers who have managed to elude the police and he kills them. Clearly this game will be receiving at least a “Teen” rating from the ESRB when it is released.

Normally games based on previous properties tend to flounder a bit, especially when compared to their source material. However Dexter could end up being a success, due to the intriguing nature of the original TV show. The Dexter video game could end up becoming another Indigo Prophesy.
