Jeux-France has come bearing plenty of new information on some of the five new DS titles NIS is currently developing for the system. Among them is Disgaea: Prince of the Demon World and Red Moon, which was mentioned in a Gamertell post earlier today (March 6, 2008). The first three confirmed titles in development include the Disgaea DS port, Jigsaw World and Rhapsody: In Musical Adventure. Despite the Babelfish translation and DS Fanboy report of the last title being Rhapsody: In Musical Adventure, I’m going to guess that it was meant to be translated as Rhapsody: A Musical Adventure, the title of an early NIS PS1 title.
So far of the three games announced, all are ports (Thanks Chris Michael for telling me about Jigsaw World!). Disgaea: PotDWaRM is yet another adaptation of the original PS2 game Disgaea, as confirmed by magazine scans. While there weren’t any scans to confirm that Rhapsody is a port, the title strongly suggests it. Jigsaw World is a port of the very first NIS game, which was originally released on the PS1 in 1995. Jeux-France suggests that Famitsu information reveals that the Disgaea port should be available in Japan by Q2 2008.
This may sound silly, but I am now more excited about the DS Rhapsody port than I am about the Disgaea port. I adored Rhapsody: A Musical Adventure. In fact, Star Ocean 2 and Rhapsody were the first two games I bought when I originally purchased a PS1. Rhapsody was one of those rare Atlus titles which received a limited release originally, so it is nice to see that it may get a second chance on the DS.

All 3 games are ports. Jigsaw World is the very first game NIS ever developed.

That would Rock so much Jenni-L. Afternoon of Darkness was a great test on ADHOC. I'm sure that the WiFi worldwide connection will make Disgaea fans "scream" dood as they fall under the prey of Hectic battles.

Yeah The side strolling Tatical Battles would be excellent for the Dual Screens.

Makai brought the joy of being a Freakin Overlord…not as good as Disgaea but it keep the Netherworld Spirt.
Phantom was a bit emotional but Fun Refining natural resources for phantoms. I Liked and Didnt like the "Slippery Bouncy" feilds along with the Height of some levels. But its truly an infinte game. Weapons were even refineable. Let your characters throw their items before they turn back into a tree, rock, flower pot, etc and you have 2 new phantoms. n_n
It would be nice to have all of them in portable forms Rick. I'd rebuy them all. XD
Makai was good, but for some reason I didn't love it as much as the others. I also finished it a lot quicker.
I LOVED Phantom Brave. In fact, I haven't finished it yet. I really enjoy it, so I'm taking my time and really leveling. I play like once a month and level, maybe complete a segment or two of the story, then go play something else and return later. I love the whole feel of it though and I'd enjoy seeing it on a handheld system.
Definitely Jenni-L. NisAmerica should just keep Nippon Ichi as their offical brand. The sell out faster than any other game they produced.
Makai is funny-just a tad slow on the uptake.
Pram and Zetta keep me playing the most.
Phantom is too fun. Nippon ichi games like Disgaea is something i play daily, but like you, Phantom brave and Makai just dont cut it for me to be played that often. Maybe once a week.
The Music for Nippon Ichi games are ridiculously catchy. The Violin in Disgaea and Phantom is PERFECT. Makai's Techno RPG Bass sounded great too. Kinda like being underwater with class, and maybe a few gutair solos. What's an Tactics without good music?
Definitely – if you're going to be going through long tactical battles, you need the best music possible.

The Scrabbits on Phantom Brave make the craziest sounds. Like… Kazukii! or Sir. Mokii! I never understood it but its wicked because you can get OBI's from their Roundhouse attacks. n_n
I wish they'd give Ash a higher stay on the move. 5 turn is low for a main character.
I sold my PSP(fat-for Disgaea 1 and a some other Nippon Ichi games for the PS2. My PS2 got busted and i bought another on the day that Disgaea 2 came out. I bought a PSP(slim) just for Disgaea: Afternoon of darkness… and now i'm saving for Disgaea 3 and a PS3. I Already have enough for the PS3 now. I just love it that much X3
Disgaea 3 looks to be excellent… the Team attacks look critical and it looks like they brought enemies from all the Nippon games and Cramed them on the game. With the PS3's Blu-Ray Huge Storage- I hope they Fill the Disk,place online Multiplayer, and make an Limited Edition Copy.
I didn't buy Disgaea for the PSP, but I will get it for the DS when it is released.

Its Extreme to get a PS3 for disgaea since its so darn expensive. The PS3 Line-up looks better this year though.
Disgaea 2 was nice but i have problems playing it after i'm done with all the unlockable content. I like the Dark world… but the story dies out when its complete. Thats how disgaea is doomed to be in the end.
Although its still fun to Kick arse and level up. Disgaea 2 doesnt give me the evil feeling it did as Disgaea.
Hopefully Nippon Ichi does somthing crazy to add content to Disgaea 3 when its release. It's a lot to ask for, but Downloadable content would keep it alive. I'm sure if Disgaea is going DS- then more release will hit it later.
Downloadable content for Disgaea 3 would be amazing. It probably wouldn't be that unheard of either, as NIS is incredibly accommodating for fans.
I didn't get an evil feeling from either Disgaea or Disgaea 2. I did, however, think Disgaea was funnier than the sequel. The thing is, I liked Disgaea 2's story progression better. I really didn't like the original Disgaea's storyline after the space people from Earth showed up. I wanted more Netherworld antics.
