If you’re a gamer and you haven’t grabbed your copy of Valve Software’s The Orange Box, which featured GDC 2008 winner for game of the year, Portal, then what is keeping you? Maybe five games for the price of one just don’t seem right in your mind. Well now, Valve is offering gamers another chance to experience the 5 in 1 package deal by releasing each of the Orange Box games as a stand-alone titles on April 9th, 2008, according to IGN.
While Steam users have been able to purchase and download each game individually, Valve has recently announced that they will be releasing each title (Half Life 2, Episodes 1 and 2,Portal and Team Fortress 2 for sale at retail.
Portal will sell for $19.99 while Team Fortress 2 and the first two episodes of Half Life 2 will go for $29.99. Half Life 2 has already been available for purchase on the original Xbox and PC for the better part of the past five years now. So now, if you were interested in just one of these games, you now have the chance to find out what all the talk was about…at least part of it.
