This magazine has a 12 page Sims 3 preview

If you’re looking for information on The Sims 3, which was recently announced by EA, then you better check out the latest issue of Games for Windows. There is an exclusive 12 page article, in which many new revelations about the title are brought to light to give fans a taste of the latest edition of the life sim. An arrangement has been made where 1Up Networks and Games for Windows will be the ones to offer the first tidbits of information on The Sims 3. The official Sims 3 website will be updated on March 19, 2008.

A recent article on 1Up.com offers quite a bit of insight into The Sims 3. For example, 1Up reports that the neighborhood and homes are now seamlessly integrated. When you load up the game and a home, the neighborhood is right there and your sims can just walk right over. While later Sims 2 expansions allowed players to have their sims walk or drive to other lots and see other lots from their own home, Sims 3 will allow a similar action, only improved, without the need of any expansions. Also sims now have distinct moods to show when they need things rather than the motive gauges found in The Sims 2.

The The Sims 3 official site still displays a teaser image at the moment. There is a promise of additional information on March 19, 2008, but that is just so far away. Hopefully when it updates there will gameplay footage, screen shots and an expected release date. Personally I’m hoping it’s out before the end of 2008.

  2. I'm sure it will Gemma. After all, Sims 2 works perfectly on Vista. (At least, I've never had a problem playing Sims 2 on my Vista machine.)
