After a long dry spell, it seems that Nintendo’s big releases for 2008 are hitting closer than expected. The Wii installment of the wildly popular Mario Kart series will be hitting the US on April 27, 2008, a mere month and a half after heavy hitter Super Smash Bros. Brawl made its debut.
According to a press release from Nintendo, the game will come with a Wii Wheel packed in for newbie players (which will also be sole separately) and promises 12-player online multiplayer right out of the box (no word on friend codes, but expect them). The title also features karts and motorbikes, 16 new and 16 “classic” tracks, 10 battle arenas, and the ability to play as your Mii in game.
I know most Wii owners are waist-deep in SSBB right now, but it’s nice to see Nintendo getting a grip on its big releases for once. That is… unless you live in Europe.
