Mario Kart

Nintendo’s ready to let Mario Kart Wii run loose with its infamous Wii Wheel on April 27, 2008. That’s another Sunday release for Nintendo after Super Smash Bros. Brawl on March 9, 2008. Does Reggie Fils-Aime have some sort of god complex?

Well, he should probably get over it because now that the second tier of Nintendo’s first-party titles is all but exhausted for the latest console, the real challenge begins for Nintendo. Is it back a Donkey Kong revival? Please say we’re in for another Banjo Kazooie.

Nintendo’s press release for Mario Kart Wii confirms online play with up to 11 others, and it should be easy to tell who’s who because everyone can bring their Mii into the mix. To really hammer home Nintendo’s dedication to recyclcing, the game will include 16 new and 16 classic courses. Plus, it’s when we all get our first chance to steer like Daddy and Mommy do in the real car with our Wii Wheels! Or,we’ll get to do it again, at any rate. And, if you’re worried, other control schemes will be supported such as the WiiMote plus Nunchuck and GameCube controller, thank goodness.

Now don’t go spoiling your appetite with one of the five other ways you can kart Mario around. But here’s the real question: How do the GTA, which also has a game coming out late April, and Mario Kart crowds overlap?
