Yet another PSP firmware update has been released by Sony, v3.93. Figures – I just updated mine. This latest update is mainly fluff if you already have your PSP running with v3.90 firmware. All that is new in v3.93 is updated support for some of the Playstation Network games. However v3.90, which I downloaded about a week ago, did add additional Skype and Internet Radio support to the handheld.
The Internet Radio, which is available under the Network icon, now has 20 more players with new music genres. Previously only Internet Player I and II were available for download, and now One Station Radio Clip players and One Switch Radio players are available. Some highlights are players featuring music from the UK, India, Japan, Korea, Mexico, anime and games.
Of course to use the Internet Radio feature, you have to have Wi-Fi internet access and download a player to your memory card. Personally, I don’t use my PSP for music really so it isn’t that big a deal to me. I did download the game, J-Pop and anime music players though. For people who love music and constantly are connecting their PSP to Wi-Fi, this is a nice update, especially since the players download quickly.
