Netflix movies being considered for Xbox Live

The premier online movie rental firm Netflix recently conducted a survey in which it asked its subscribers whether they would be interested in watching streaming movies through Xbox Live. Netflix might be exploring the possibility of providing streaming movies to the 10 million-strong Xbox Live user base.

However, Netflix spokesperson Steve Swasey remained mute on whether or not Netflix will actually provide streaming movies through Xbox Live. He told Reuters that the company was looking to reach movie buffs “in as many ways as possible.” Even Microsoft has maintained the customary post-rumor silence on the issue.

Netflix on Xbox Live or any other console service makes good enough sense since Netflix needs to explore various digital distribution channels as the days of storage media might be numbered.
