Get out your DS and start painting your Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates moogles, because Square Enix is going to be holding a “Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates Moogle Paint Contest” from April 4, 2008 until May 5, 2008. The official contest rules haven’t been released yet, but will appear on the official Ring of Fates website tomorrow morning. Since the point of the contest is to submit painted moogles, I’m going to guess that you’ll need to have a DS, a copy of the game and the ability to log on to the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection to enter.
The three different categories for judging and the prizes have been announced. There are three different areas where a moogle can excel and win, “Most Fashionable Moogle,” “Best Culture Moogle” and “Freestyle Moogle.” The prizes revealed include a stained glass moogle mascot, a signed art panel and moogle stickers. I’m hoping that those items represent first, second and third place prizes for each category, but we’ll have to wait a day to find out. The best entries submitted will also appear on the website.
This is really a cute idea. I wonder if it is being done to appease people who were upset about not being able to engage in multiplayer play over the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. It almost seems like Square Enix’s way of saying that the online moogle trading isn’t worthless. Online moogle swapping can’t be useless if it can help you earn prizes not available in stores.
