game controllerA man has been charged for assaulting a 2-year-old girl in York, PA (USA), with, of all things, a video game controller. The game controller might sound like a benign object but it can be lethal if used against a toddler, which it turned out to be in this case. The little girl is currently in a coma after receiving severe injuries to her head and body.

The execrable incident occurred on Sunday (April 6, 2008), when the little girl was beaten by Harve L. Johnson, her mother’s boyfriend, until she lost consciousness. The accused then tried to revive the little girl in vain and, finally, her mother, Neida Baez called an ambulance. Charges have also been brought against her and she has been accused of endangerment of a child. The couple is behind bars at York County Prison.

Johnson has confessed to the police to assaulting the little girl with a video game controller. It is strange that how nearly all of the video game related violence is not directly related to or inspired by video games, in spite of all the anti-game rhetoric. Anyways, let’s just pray for the girls speedy recovery.
