Konami announces Metal Gear Solid 4 price and availability

New information on Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots was released by Konami on April 10, 2008. First of all, the standard version of the game will cost $59.99. Second, the limited edition version will cost $84.99 and only be available at GameStop. Konami also announced that there will be a pre-sell program where people who preorder the game will receive a Metal Gear Saga Vol. 2 DVD which will include informative videos, game trailers and a voucher code for the Metal Gear online beta.
Despite the high price, the limited edition version of Metal Gear Solid 4 doesn’t offer anything stellar. Like, when I heard about it, it didn’t make me say “Wow! I have to preorder my copy today!” It comes with a bonus Blu-ray disc that has two documentaries covering the making of the game and containing interviews with the creator Hideo Kojima. It also comes with the game’s soundtrack and a special box.
The Metal Gear Online Beta, probably a lot of people’s sole reason for preordering, will be available for download from April 17 – May 5, 2008. The beta will be able to be played from April 21 – May 5, 2008.
