Spider-Man: Web of Shadows

Opened-ended games are all the rage these days. With a number of free roaming style games already on their way with Grand Theft Auto IV leading the pack, the upcoming Spider-Man: Web of Shadows game is ready to sling a web around this popular genre.

According to the official game web site, New York City has been invaded by an unknown alien or mystical force that only Spider-Man can stop. Players will take total control of Spider-Man, being able to customize his aerial combat and combos, choose his allies (and enemies) and take the path of either a hero or a dark anti-hero. So choose wisely.

Web of Shadows, much like Activision’s previous Spider-Man games, is a free-roam action/adventure title, due to be released on all gaming platforms.

Only Nick Fury, Luck Cage and Kingpin cameos have been confirmed for the game, but rest assured, a number of other Marvel heroes and villains will be featured in Web of Shadows.

From the looks of the teaser video, Spider-Man: Web of Shadows looks to taking a more serious and non-movie approach, than what we have seen in past Spider-Man games released by Activision.
