bishockAt a sit-down panel discussion at this weekend’s New York Comic-Con, director Guillermo Del Toro (Hellboy, Blade 2) denied rumors of his possible involvement in a BioShock motion picture.

Del Toro, who has also been linked to a possible Hobbit movie, stated in the panel, “No, I’m a big fan of BioShock, but I’m not involved in creating any movie out of it.” He did end his comment with, “Not yet.”

Del Toro is still busy rapping up production of his upcoming summer movie, Hellboy 2: The Golden Army, due to be released July 11, 2008.

As for a movie based on the 2007 game of the year, there is no confirmed promise from publisher 2K Games that Bioshock (the spiritual successor to the 1994′s System Shock) is in development, although a number of studios have taken interest in adapting it as a movie.
