Amazon Assassin's Creed DS deal
Earlier today (April 25, 2008), Gamertell reported that Amazon was having five incredible sales on five DS titles. The latest sale, which started at 6pm PDT, features a surprising title: Assassin’s Creed: Altair’s Chronicles. If you’re interested, it’s been discounted to $14.99 from the normal $29.99 retail price. So far there are about two hours left for the sale, and 59% of the stock has been sold.

That being said, its nice to see Assassin’s Creed DS appropriately priced. Back when Gamertell reviewed it, it only received a 5/10. It also prompted a follow-up piece, “Face off: Assassin’s Creed: Altair’s Chronicles vs. Zoo Tycoon 2. (Zoo Tycoon 2 won by the way.) It wasn’t atrocious, but it wasn’t very good either.

Previous DS game sales today on Amazon included Advance Wars: Days of Ruin ($16.99), Call of Duty 4 ($18.99), Master of Illusion ($14.99) and Transformers – Autobot ($9.99). Advance Wars is available all day, but the other four games were limited time “Lightning Deals.” So far only the Masters of Illusion deal was completely sold out. Only 44% of the Call of Duty 4 and 27% of the Transformer games were claimed.

So for $14.99, it’s definitely worth the buy. If I hadn’t just spent money on Patapon, I’d have picked up a copy. Of course it can’t compare to Zoo Tycoon 2. That being said, I’d wouldn’t be surprised to see Assassin’s Creed DS sell out. Assassins are hot.
