In 2007, 2K Games released Bioshock, a first person shooter/role playing game that many hailed as the spiritual successor to the 1994 System Shock. Bioshock would go on to become 2007′s game of the year after its original release on the Xbox 360 and later on the PC. As for PlayStation 3 owners, they haven’t been able to experience the hit title so far.
While still only rumors at this time, gamers have discovered, locked away in the PC release of Bioshock, code that detailed the configuration files for a port to the PS3. According to the June 2008 issue of Electronic Gaming Monthly, 2K Games just might be giving PS3 gamers their chance to harvest the Little Sisters come September 2008.
PS3 gamers will get to experience everything that the rest of us have up till this point, including all visual and content improvements.
It is expected that, around the same time, 2K Games will reveal the first details concerning the planned sequel, Bioshock 2. As if now, no details have been leaked about what the planned sequel to one of 2007′s best games will be about, or where and when it will be set. It is expected that Bioshock 2 won’t be an exclusive title, but will be released on the PC, Xbox 360 and PS3.
