Namco Bandai has just issued a press release announcing exclusive Naruto figurines for people who preorder Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Heroes 2: The Phantom Fortress. If you pre-order the game, make a copy of your pre-order slip, register for the Hokage’s Room website (providing your home address during the account creation process) and then sign up for the Hokage’s Room Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Heroes 2 pre-order Mission, you’ll receive one Naruto figure from the six pictured above. No, you don’t get to choose which one.
If you decide to place your pre-order for the game through GameStop, then there is a whole different set of instructions you could follow. Instead of pre-ordering at your local store, create a Hokage’s Room account, log in to the site, click the Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Heroes 2 icon on the main page that says to pre-order the game at GameStop.com (pictured at right) and place your pre-order online. Then you might be able to win one of 10 Naruto skins for your PSP.
Way to make buyers jump through hoops for a pre-order item Namco Bandai. Let’s be serious, a lot of people don’t hold on to their pre-order information. They’ll just offer up some sort of ID after they receive the call from the store to get their game. When I pre-ordered Nintendogs, I forgot about it, and that was a major release. I know that the company wants people to join the Hokage’s Room site, but this isn’t a good way to encourage enrollment.
The Naruto figurines don’t even look all that cool. They look like McDonald’s Happy Meal toys. Yeah, I’m just playing – the Itachi figure looks fierce. If I knew for sure which figure I’d get, I’d consider pre-ordering. Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Heroes 2 should be in stores on June 24, 2008.
