Guinness World Records is soon going to make a record of its own for the most video game-related buzz a record chronicle has ever made. Ever since the Guinness World Records: Gamer’s Edition 2008 launched there have been plenty of events to underscore the launch of the book.
Guinness is giving any gamer the opportunity to break into the record books by breaking arcade gaming records at the 10th Annual International Classic Video Game and Pinball Tournament scheduled from May 29, 2008, to June 1, 2008, at the Funspot Family Entertainment Center in Laconia, NH.
Gamers who successfully tumble established arcade gaming records at the event will have a very strong reason to buy the next year’s Guinness World Records: Gamer’s Edition with their name in it. There will be a six-game pinball tournament, a 10-game video game tournament and a high score contest on Stargate and Defender for the visitors to enjoy.
Arcade aficionados will have to shelve out a registration fee of $30 at the entrance, which will cover include 200 game tokens. The ones who win one of the tournaments will win $250. So not a bad bargain it seems.
