Love Guru movie posterPlayer X and Tag Games have created a Love Guru cell phone game. So if you think you hated the movie, just wait until you try the game. It was first released for Verizon Wireless users on June 10, 2008, and now is gradually being released on to over 140 other carriers around the world. Screen shots, and game descriptions, were not offered in the press release, but it involves playing mini-game to attain enlightenment.

The actual Love Guru movie was released June 20, 2008. In it, Mike Myers plays a love guru who supposedly helps people find love. It hasn’t done too well, and has garnered quite a few sub-par reviews. Just imagine what kind of game a movie like that can spawn.

You know, since people didn’t like the movie, then perhaps making a game isn’t the best idea. After all – if the source material sucks, then the spin-off isn’t going to sparkle. Go make a cell phone game inspired by a good movie – like maybe a Mirrormask game. I’d play that.
