The Wii Motionplus is a little accessory block which works with the accelerometer and the Wiimote sensor bar to improve control. It precisely determines the angle, position and movement of players arms with even greater accuracy to allow for easier game controls. It supposedly gives a 1:1 response for a player’s actions to the actions in the game.
A price and a release date for the peripheral have not yet been set. It seems like a handy accessory and pretty helpful, so let’s hope it is released soon.
Update (July 17, 2008): Spencer Yip from Siliconera had the opportunity to discuss the Motionplus accessory with a Nintendo representative at E3 2008. Apparently the Motionplus accessory in its prototype stage is quite a battery guzzler – users with it only get nine hours of battery life from their wiimotes, while users without it get 30 hours.
