While Sony and Microsoft decided to take the downloadable movie route in expanding consoles content, Nintendo thinks pictures are the way to go. Fujifilm and Nintendo have joined forces to bring an online photo service to Wii owners. Currently it’s only available in Japan but it could find its way stateside depending on the success rate.
The service works similarly to other upload and print options. Pictures are uploaded to the internet using an SD card that’s plugged into the Wii. It all gets sent to Fujifilm who will take care of payment options, delivery, and creation of your photos. Your photos can be more unique than you may think.
There is an amount of customization that can go into the photos. You could create a photo that features your Mii with a Super Mario theme or choose from five other themes. An entire photo album could feature friends and family hanging out in their favorite virtual world. Those images can also be transferred to business cards that are sure to stand out.
Who wouldn’t want to hang up a picture of themselves giving Mario a high five?
