Nintendo is no longer taking the “geeks and otaku” approach to ignoring the Wii’s tiny 512 mb storage capacity. In case you aren’t in on the issue, the Wii has two downloadable game services, yet only a miniscule amount of memory on which to store games. In a recent post at GameDaily, Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime acknowledged the issue, and assured fans that the company is working on “a range of solutions”

From the post:

“From an Americas-centric perspective, here is the reality we see. We have a consumer base who loves Virtual Console. We have a userbase who really is enjoying WiiWare content. Here’s a solution: release a cheap, user-friendly hard drive. It’ll make all the geeks and otaku happy.
